Penn-Northwest Development Corporation provides marketing, coordination and financial services to help retain and expand existing businesses, and to attract new business to the Mercer County, Pennsylvania regional service area.
Penn-Northwest's economic development mission is to attract new business and industrial investment, provide outreach and retention services to support the retention and expansion of value added business and industry, and provide coordination and support services in direct support of economic development attraction, retention and expansion activities throughout the Mercer County regional service area. Implementation of mission objectives is undertaken in the spirit of cooperation and teamwork integrating a wide array of resources in support of, public and private, business and industry growth and development objectives.
PNDC was established in 1985 to address the loss of manufacturing jobs in the region. Since then the non-profit corporation has participated in over 400 projects, resulting in the creation of over 8,000 new jobs and the retention of over 13,000 jobs. Development activity during the 30 years resulted in nearly $1 billion in public/private investment in the county.
