Prescott Muir Architects was founded in 1976 and has since developed a national reputation for design of uniquely crafted buildings and urban interventions. The work is grounded in a location, people, culture and the inescapable influence of time. Invariably each project’s response is particular to situation and thus poses a purposeful resistance to stylistic interpretation. Projects are conceived in a narrative co-authored by client, community and architect. The physical expression of which grows from the assemblage of incremental or detailed “proofs” or solutions mediated by the inherent tension between use and representation.
