Westmoreland Sanctuary is a not-for-profit, independent nature center and wildlife preserve located in Westchester County, New York. Our preserve encompasses 640-acres of diverse habitat, including a 7.5-miles hiking trail system. Westmoreland Sanctuary offers free access to our hiking trails, Natural Science Museum, and parking lot, every day of the week.
Westmoreland focuses its environmental conservation efforts on unique and fragile habitats. These concentrated efforts maximize our impact on native species and helps control the spread of invasive species.
Westmoreland educates 7,000 students (all ages) each year in STEM topics such as ecology, biomimicry and organic chemistry, as well as cultural and historical programming. Our experiential programs also include unique seasonal programming including maple sugaring, bird banding, and floral design.
