Is the brain child of Matt and David, based on an awful zine called, Noise (Not to be confused with 'The Noise' (our second issue was going to be dedicated to Yoko Ono, the Queen of Noise)) we never got past the second draft. Before this they wrote and attempted to create a public access sketch comedy show, "The Dada Comedy Hour", as you may have figured by now, never took off. As Francis Ford Coppola said after filming Apocalypse Now, "There has got to be an easier way to make movies," and in this spirit we created Awkward Haiku. During one long winter night of coffee and studying, David received a phone call from Matt, Matt had contracted a bad case winter fever (like cabin fever mixed with Seasonal Affectedness Disorder and Finals) and passed it on to David. Three days later, the two had found that someone had created a blog, and the rest is lost in the sands of time. The guiding belief behind Awkward Haiku is that pop culture has meaning, and that one can understand the whole equation through investigating links and trends. The post-ironic age is upon us, and we need to understand it. Also, silliness makes us giggle. Andrew, Ben, and Bryan signed on to write, and the five of us, as well as occasional side contributors make sure there's plenty of new content daily. What will you find here?
