Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters is a high adventure Christian wilderness camp focused on proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the exposition of Scripture and personal relationships in order to equip the Church to impact this generation. We are located in the mountains of western North Carolina. Over the years, Snowbird has grown from a 50-person to a 550-person housing capacity. Its year-round discipleship weekends and 11 weeks of summer camp serve nearly 11,000 annually. Snowbird now operates with a 50-member year-round staff, more than a dozen of which serve through a year-round apprentice program created to disciple men and women in their early adult years. During the summer season, Snowbird hires an additional 100 college-age adults to serve as small group leaders and recreational staff, as well as nearly 20 high school students to train under the Servant Team program. In addition, the Snowbird Institute is a program designed to help train college-aged students in relational, Gospel-centered ministry, while equipping them with a Bible-based, theological education, in addition to vocational training in a healthy Christian environment. Everything we do at SWO from whitewater rafting, rappelling, and climbing to using relevant drama, breakout sessions, and worship is used as a platform to teach God's word and to build long lasting relationships with students.
