Sometimes, it isn’t easy finding the right words to explain what the Richmond Community Foundation is, or what it does. Then we remember: the words are right there in our name. It all starts with Richmond. When our organization was founded, in 1990, our goal was to make our community the best that it could possibly be. Everything we do, we do for Richmond, and that will never change. Specifically, we want to create a stronger, healthier Community, which means supporting initiatives in a broad range of fields: education, sports and fitness, arts and culture, healthcare, the environment – just to name a few. How do we offer support? As a Foundation, we manage forever funds, which can be created by individuals, families, businesses, community groups, or anyone else. They're called forever funds because the money is invested, and so the funds keep growing - forever. Every year, we distribute a portion of the investment income as grants to local non-profit organizations, and scholarships to Richmond students.
