Founded in 1920, Hadley is the largest, worldwide provider of distance education for people over the age of 14 who are blind or visually impaired. Hadley serves approximately 10,000 students in all 50 states and more than 100 countries each year. The school offers more than 100 courses in five different programs areas: High School, Adult Continuing Education, Family Education, Professional Studies and Low Vision Focus. Courses cover a range of subjects, from independent living and employment to access technology, academic studies and leisure activities. The curriculum is provided in a variety of formats, including large print, braille, audio and online. Courses are tuition-free for people who are blind or visually impaired and their family members. There is modest tuition for professionals. Hadley relies on contributions from individuals, foundations and corporations to support its award-winning programs.
