The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, are the area leader in affordable family entertainment. The team was founded in 1995 as the Piedmont Phillies and played the 1996-2000 seasons as the Piedmont Boll Weevils. Prior to the 2001 season, the franchise took on a new name and a new Major League affiliate. Games are played at CMC-NorthEast Stadium, located just off I-85 at Exit 63.
