Founded in 1999, Cambridge Flow Solutions Ltd (CFS) develops and markets advanced engineering simulation software and customised solutions for complex CAE applications. CFS’s approach centres on delivering practical, integrated software that leverages the power of scalable computing. Close partnership with global top-tier industrial clients allows CFS to tailor its software and services to present and future requirements, guiding product development.
Central to this work is CFS’ vision of a fully-scalable, end-to-end parallel simulation environment tailored to complex applications and HPC, built on the novel concept of digital geometry. This environment integrates the various stages of the simulation process, from geometry through to simulation and beyond. It is assembled from 3rd-party-compatible modular components which CFS is developing.
A key component of this environment is BOXERMesh, an advanced, hybrid unstructured grid generator that meshes geometries of arbitrary complexity and size, delivering significant capability, productivity and cost benefits. Implemented as fully parallel, distributed memory software, BOXERMesh is exceptionally scalable, fast, reliable and easy to use. Key features include the avoidance of CAD repair through robustness to imperfections and the assurance of a reliable and predictable process that delivers ready-to-run meshes.
CFS’s solver technology includes high-efficiency higher order LES that delivers affordable next generation CFD on real-world industrial applications. Novel, highly efficient algorithms provide order of magnitude improvements in speed relative to commercially available LES, which when combined with reduced memory requirements enable the software to run on more widely accessible platforms.
