Company Details
“Australia’s most influential circus company” The Flying Fruit Fly Circus (FFFC) is Australia’s National Youth Circus, renowned as a centre of artistic training and performance excellence. The FFFC uniquely offers a full-time program of elite-level circus training, general eduction - through the select entry Flying Fruit Fly Circus School - and professional national and international touring. The company's regionally located state-of-the-art facilities provide young people aged from 8 to 19 with the best possible creative environment in which to train, learn and perform. Founded in 1979, the International Year of the Child, the FFFC is Australia's most successful cultural community development project, influencing the ongoing development of contemporary circus through continued excellence, landmark projects and a growing family of alumni working professionally around the world in leading circus and performing arts companies such as Circus Oz, Cirque du Soleil and Circa. Many have also gone on to create their own successful circus companies. The FFFC's live shows, created and performed by young people for young people, continue to be in high demand at festivals, theatres and corporate events locally, nationally and internationally and regularly play to sell-out audiences around the country. The FFFC is proudly based in regional Albury-Wodonga, on the banks of the Murray River where NSW meets Victoria. In addition to full-time training and touring opportunities, the FFFC offers a broad range of recreational and community programs. The Flying Fruit Fly Circus is a member of the Arts8 Roundtable with the other elite national training organisations – Australian Ballet School, Australian Film Television and Radio School, Australian National Academy of Music, Australian Youth Orchestra, NAISDA Dance College, National Institute of Circus Arts, and National Institute of Dramatic Art. It is also a member of the European Federation of Professional Circus Schools (FEDEC).
