Brief Company History
Pines was launched in 2001 and registered with Security and Exchange Commission to solidify its operations as an English Academy. Over the years, it has grown as one of the big English Academies that maintained partnerships with local universities like the University of the Cordilleras. It has continued to expand its reach by hosting ESL training with students from Korean and Japanese Universities. In 2015, Pines supported the opening of Cebu Blue Ocean Academy-its sister school.
The academy has continued its expansion through the Hopkins International Partners, Inc. as the Official TOEIC Center in Baguio in 2016. Pines launched the IELTS Guarantee Course in 2017. In the succeeding year of 2018; Pines' partnership with the British Council (BC) was granted. Pines has been an active partner of the BC and became a part of the top 10 Partners in the Philippines in 2020.
More than two decades from the time it was established, Pines is home to 350 Filipino employees and students from Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan, Mongolia, China, Thailand, and Saudi Arabia. The population ranges from 300 to 350 during peak season. Pines is open to accepting students from other parts of the world as it had also accepted Brazilian and Columbian students. This creates more opportunities for students to mandatorily interact in English not only in class but everywhere they go.
