Jericho Partnership is eight Ministry Partners and 26 Church Partners, supported in part by our business community, unified in mission to serve the at-risk community of Danbury CT.
The depth and breathe of our faith-based ministry is significant and broad, encompassing mentoring programs, tutoring initiatives in private and public schools, after-school and summer academic programming, youth programs, a low-cost pediatric clinic, pregnancy services, homeless shelter, transitional housing for addiction recovery, homeless services and career development, food pantry and clothing bank, sport-based programs, and more.
Our goals are to help children successfully navigate a path to high school graduation (reduce drop-out rates), support the homeless and needy, enable life and health to all ages, support neighborhood transformation, and share the hope of Christ with a biblical worldview.
Taking our name from the Biblical parable of the Good Samaritan, who aided a beaten and bruised traveler on the ancient road to Jericho, we aim to fulfill the Bible’s twin directives of proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ and of doing good deeds to demonstrate His love – benefiting our community by helping those in need of spiritual, emotional and material transformation.
We are fueled by an army of many hundreds of volunteers, as well as hundreds of compassionate gift partners, who provides the resources we need to serve thousands of clients and those with whom we come in contact.
Through our CityServe initiatives, which began in 2016 in partnership with the City of Danbury, Jericho now has a presence in two (and counting) public schools, to engage students in a Ready Buddy program and increase reading levels for at-risk students. Project CleanStart teams Jericho volunteers with homeless men and women, as they perform - and earn compensation for - city-sanctioned tasks downtown. They also engage in career development training, with the goal to get them employed and housed.
