Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe has been providing people in need for over 65 years. We are the humanitarian assistance agency of the Protestant Churches in Germany with headquarters in Berlin.
We help: people, who have become victims of natural disasters, war and forced displacement and who are unable to deal with their predicament without external assistance. We also help in forgotten crises that receive no public attention.
Our partners: We usually work with partner organizations from the respective country and are a member of the worldwide church humanitarian assistance network ACT Alliance. So we are already there when help is needed.
Our principles: Respecting human dignity is our overriding principle. Our humanitarian assistance is targeted exclusively to meet the needs of those affected. In conflict regions, we maintain strict neutrality.
Our promise: We provide assistance irrespective of religion, skin or nationality – in a quick, non-bureaucratic, reliable and effective way. We stay as long as we do to be needed.
