Maria Coyne | Vocal Coach
Mezzo-Soprano Maria Coyne grew up in Atlanta, GA where her love of music began at the age of two when she started playing Suzuki Violin. Fast forward a few years, Maria graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Olaf College where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance. Maria toured with the internationally recognized St. Olaf Choir as a member and soloist. She also soloed for The St. Olaf Cantorei's performance of Mozart's Laudate Dominum. She played leading roles with the Lyric Theatre at St. Olaf, including Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring and Kurt Weill's Street Scene. Maria sang with the women's a cappella group Agnes A Cappella, for which she also co-directed and arranged music. She has sung at Carnegie Hall in New York City three different times, twice as a soloist. Maria has studied with James McKeel, Sigrid Johnson, and Carrie Kahl.

I am committed to providing instruction of healthy vocal technique while encouraging students to expand their love of music through the study of a variety of musical styles (classical, opera, musical theatre, jazz, pop, folk, etc.).
