Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences can look back on over 100 years of education tradition. Its predecessor institutions are the Geestemünde School of Navigation established in 1879 and the City Technical College inaugurated in 1884. Today, the University has about 2.600 students. The curricula and research activities of the courses are targeted at what is needed in practice and gives this new impetus through future-oriented developments. Most diploma theses are compiled in close co-operation with regional businesses and contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of the economy. This mutual exchange of ideas however also has a stimulating effect on teaching.
