HorseWorld is a charity which provides a kind and secure environment in which young people and equines can thrive and rebuild lives that may have been affected by trauma or neglect.
Since 1952, HorseWorld has rescued and saved the lives of horses, ponies and donkeys that have been found in deprived, malnourished states and in need of safe, loving homes.
In 2007 this endeavour developed into a parallel initiative named Discovery, a programme for vulnerable young people and adults who are experiencing life challenges due to their social, emotional, mental health and learning needs.
HorseWorld’s dual role as a charity is highly innovative in not only rescuing abandoned, neglected equines and restoring them to health, but also by bonding these animals with those in need, in a situation in which they feel safe and can grow to their full potential.
By bringing together the rescued equines with young people who have their own struggles, HorseWorld and Discovery improves wellbeing and encourages positive change. Above all, the charity enables horses and young people to have a second chance for a happy life.
