PTU Nalanda School of TQM & Entrepreneurship is the First School of Excellence and an autonomous constituent unit of IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU). IKGPTU was established by an Act of State Legislature of Punjab in 1997 to promote technical, management and pharmaceutical education in the state at degree level and above.
The School was launched by Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, then President of India in December 2003, as PTU’s Gian Jyoti School of TQM & Entrepreneurship, a public-private partnership between PTU and Gian Jyoti Education Society (GJES). The School is registered as a separate society with its own Governing Council and enjoys complete administrative and financial autonomy. Following the withdrawal of GJES from the partnership, the society was reconstituted as an autonomous society of the University and renamed PTU Nalanda School of TQM & Entrepreneurship w.e.f. May 2014. The School is housed in the Mohali campus of IKGPTU located in Phase 7, Industrial Area, Sector-119, Mohali.
The School offers post-graduate, graduate and certificate programmes for working professionals. It has built a strong connect with industry in the region and also offers Executive Development programmes and Consultancy to corporate and Government organizations in the fields of Business Management, Industrial Engineering, and Total Quality Management (TQM).
The School has added Entrepreneurship Development and Industrial Training Programmes for B.Tech students in 2015.
