Just Like You Films is a Mid-American Emmy award winning and Oscar qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit film production company and our mission is to raise a global generation of kids who because of their knowledge and understanding are more empathetic and compassionate people. We are currently in production on our first feature length film, Just Like You - Anxiety and Depression. In 2018, we released Just Like You - Diabetes in partnership with JDRF and starring hall of fame baseball player, George Brett and 1999 Miss America, Nicole Johnson. In 2017, Just Like You - Facial Anomalies received theatrical distribution through AMC Theatres in over 200 theaters nationwide in a bundle with the feature film, Wonder qualifying it for an Oscar. Our films have been viewed on the Just Like You Films' youtube channel over a million times in 275 different countries. We were honored to be awarded 2 Mid-America Emmys, the Tash Positive Images in Media Award, the National Down Syndrome Congress’ Education Award, The KC Jewish Film Festival’s Trailblazer Award, the AMC Cares Award and the Autism Society of the Heartland’s Making A Difference Award. We were nominated for the The Golden Door International Film Festival’s Autism Award, Best Editing Award and won the Raising Awareness Award for our Down syndrome film. We are also a Royals Charities Grant Recipient, an Arts KC Grant Recipient and a Google Ad Grant recipient. JLY Films are distributed on Learn 360, an educational video platform reaching 8 million kids in 25,000 schools in the United States and Canada. Down Syndrome is translated into Spanish, Portuguese, Icelandic and is closed captioned for the hearing impaired.
