The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) is one of the oldest regulatory bodies in Jordan. It was established as a financially and administratively independent jurisdictional body through the Telecommunications Law No 13 of 1995.
The primary function of the TRC is to regulate the telecommunications and information technology (ICT) service sectors, as well as the postal sector according to the Postal Law No 34 of 2007.
Additionally, TRC is empowered to grant licensing and accrediting of the Certification Authorities (CA), and for carrying out auditing and monitoring functions on those CA's in accordance with the provisions of the Electronic Transactions Law of 2015 and the Bylaws issued there under.

Mission
An independent governmental commission to regulate the performance of the ICT and postal sector, stimulate competition, protect the interests of the beneficiaries, monitor the implementation of quality of service indicators (KPI'S) and providing services at affordable prices in order to achieve sustainable growth in all relevant sectors through working within an institutional framework with the stakeholders, relying on highly enthusiastic intellectual capital.
