The Santa Maria Philharmonic is a professional symphony orchestra, bringing live classical music to the Santa Maria community and greater Central Coast area. The orchestra offers an exciting four concert season of beautiful and inspiring orchestral music, elevating cultural life in the area. The orchestra also provides outstanding youth programs that bring educational events to thousands of children in the Santa Maria Valley, supplying an essential introduction to classical music. The ‘Music Van’, brings the ‘instrument petting zoo’ to 2,000 3rd graders in Santa Maria and Guadalupe, while the ‘Children’s Concerts’ provide inspirational live orchestra concerts to over 3,000 4th graders. The mission of the Santa Maria Philharmonic Society is to maintain and strengthen cultural values; to preserve the classical music art form; to enrich musical experiences in the community; to provide fine, live musical performances, and to provide cross-generational educational events in the Santa Maria and surrounding valleys.
