Founded in 2009, the National Fitness Trainers Association recognized the need for specialized applications and real world information from personal trainers, gym owners and fitness directors who have many years in the industry. The NFTA set out to act upon that need by facilitating live workshops with a “hands on” approach to learning. The NFTA goal is to be a leader in the initiative, both nationally and internationally to set professional standards for the health and fitness industry. The NFTA's mission is to further those objectives and raise the bar for professionals in our industry. NFTA certified personal trainers work in many well known commercial gyms, privately owned gyms, weight loss programs, medical wellness centers, church fitness facilities and now more and more are beginning their own training businesses. “Our mission is to increase industry standards by providing prospective fitness professionals with sensible, practical education as well as training and support and to prepare them for a career in the fitness and wellness field”.
