RACB is after his French colleague, the oldest automobile club in the world.
Founded on the 7th of January 1896 it’s main goal was the development and spreading of the “automobile”. To accomplish this, 2 mean goals were put into place: helping the industry to help improve automobiles and stimulate the usage of it.
Organizing motor sport races and exhibitions was the first answer. In 1902 the first race was held on a closed track “track of the Ardennes” and in 1924 the first ever held “Grand Prix of Belgium 24h of speed” is founded! The first 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps are born!
Throughout its history, RACB has always defended the interests of motorists. License plates, road network, road signs, highway code, organizing selling of fuel, juridical and road assistance.
