Cinema For All - building film communities across the UK Cinema For All is the national support and development organisation for community-led cinema: community cinemas, film clubs and societies. Since 1946 we have been helping communities across the country to develop and sustain the type of film screenings they want. Whether you have been screening films in your community for many years, or are just thinking about setting up, Cinema For All can support you along every step of your journey. We offer much of our advice and support for free, as well as providing a huge range of additional services and benefits for our members. We can help with film licences, affordable equipment hire, skills development though our coaching programmes, and much more. Our Booking Scheme features over 800 films, representing some of the very best of world cinema, British films, independent features, documentaries and crossover titles. Our work is funded by the BFI, member subscriptions, sponsorship, film licence fees as well as project funding from trusts and foundations. Our patrons are Ken Loach, Mark Herbert and Danny Leigh. What is a community cinema? A community cinema is any volunteer-led and non-profit organisation that shows films in its community. Community cinemas offer something special: they empower local communities from diverse backgrounds with an opportunity to build their own cinema that responds to the needs of their area. Community cinema can be responsive in its programme in many ways that commercial and mainstream cinemas cannot. They can screen films chosen by a community for their community in a diverse, affordable and socially cohesive environment. Community cinema the perfect platform for giving new insights into other cultures, challenging subjects and thinking about these things together.
