Greater NY matches corporate and nonprofit executives for two-year partnerships that meet an hour a month for confidential conversation and problem solving. Launched during the financial crisis of 2008 as a program of the Bloomberg Mayor’s Office, Greater NY has matched over 100 partnerships and forged a unique network of leaders working together to tackle New York City’s biggest challenges. Nonprofits are nominated by foundations and partnerships are carefully curated. The chief focus of Greater NY meetings is on issues for the nonprofit leader, but the relationship is dynamic and reciprocal and has resulted in what many participants call “the most interesting hour of my month.” Quarterly breakfasts feature off-the-record conversation on pressing issues or feature NYC leaders whose careers have spanned the public, private and nonprofit sectors. In 2018, Greater NY launched an Analyst Corps to partner nonprofit leaders with talented young analysts from banks and real estate firms. Analysts work on presentation projects and data analysis for nonprofits. The Analyst Corps address critical nonprofit needs and leverages the talent of New York City’s next generation.
