Surf Co. is a Brazilian company that operates in wholesale and retail offering apparel and accessories for Surfing, Skateboarding, and Urban. Its portfolio includes Hang Loose, Volcom, Hurley, Rusty, Vissla, and Huf brands, which positions it as one of the most important in the segment.
The history of Surf Co. began with the creation of Hang Loose in 1982 by Alfio Lagnado, now CEO of the group. As a surfer, he decided to enter the surfwear market, which barely existed at the time, to make up for the lack of quality national products.
This is how Hang Loose was born, a 100% Brazilian brand that has always had the mission to provide the best material for surfers in search of perfect waves.
International brand licenses were incorporated and thus the company's corporate name was changed to Surf Co. Today, the company distributes its products throughout Brazil, and abroad.
Among the company's strengths is its expertise in boardsports, as well as its proximity to video makers, artists, photographers, journalists, and people who work in this segment. Currently, it sponsors more than 50 athletes who carry the Surf Co. flag around the world, as well as organizing countless events, from amateur to world-renowned international championships.
Surf Co. has always sought to grow with the least possible impact on the ecosystem. In 2010 it became the first company in the surfwear segment in Brazil to receive ISO 14001 Environmental Management certification.
