Delta Therapy Dogs is a national not-for-profit organisation whose purpose is to help animals and people bring joy to each other. Delta operates with one core belief: that the human-animal bond can remarkably improve our quality of life and leave a lasting paw print on our hearts. Our programs focus on using that bond to comfort the sick in hospitals and aged care facilities, develop more confident children, teach children about dog safety, and promote positive reinforcement training methods to develop happy and contented pets.
There is a special and indescribable kinship shared between dogs and people of all ages. Attention from a dog can brighten your day, make you feel loved and, as has been scientifically proven, improve your overall health and wellbeing. We believe that a better relationship between people and dogs will lead to a more enriched and fulfilled life for humans and dogs alike.
Delta delivers on its purpose through five core programs:
Delta Therapy Dogs Program - visiting Aged Care, Hospitals, health facilities and correctional facilities.
Delta Paws the Pressure - workplace and campus wellbeing visits for employees and students
Delta Dog Safe Program - teaching young children safe behaviour around dogs
Delta Classroom Canines Program - assisting schoolchildren with confidence and literacy
Delta Certificate IV in Animal Behaviour and Training - providing vocational training for professional positive reinforcement dog trainers
