The Attorney General is the chief legal officer of the State of Illinois, representing all state officials and agencies and enforcing laws on behalf of the people of Illinois. The Office of the Attorney General also serves as the state’s largest public interest law firm, committed to protecting and advancing the interests of the people of Illinois through leadership, advocacy and legal representation.
More than 450 Assistant Attorneys General and over 300 employees serve in the Office of the Attorney General in offices in Chicago, Springfield and Carbondale as well as regional offices in Rockford, Quincy, Champaign-Urbana and Belleville.
