We maintain confidence in the integrity of the democratic process and make it easy for people to understand and participate. We run elections, communicate with and engage the public, provide trusted compliance processes for political participants and regulate compliance. We support transparency by publishing disclosures of political donations and expenditure and other registers, advising on improvements to legislation and enforcing electoral laws. We conduct impartial and fair elections for the Parliament, local governments, the Aboriginal Land Council, registered clubs, statutory boards and state registered industrial organisations, and other functions that support electoral matters.
