In times of war and conflict women are seen as victims; our contributions are overlooked and our voices excluded. The Nobel Women’s Initiative is led by Nobel Peace Laureates Jody Williams (USA), Shirin Ebadi (Iran), Rigoberta Menchú Tum (Guatemala), Leymah Gbowee (Liberia), Tawakkol Karman (Yemen), Maria Ressa (Philippines) and Narges Mohammadi (Iran), who all know first hand how crucial women activists are to peacebuilding. Together they use the platform and access that the Nobel Peace Prize provides to amplify the voices and support the work of women peacebuilders around the world.
