Dancing on the Edge is an artistic platform and festival that moves between different borders, bodies, histories and (pre)conceptions. We seek to challenge singular narratives with exciting and new artistic formats to engage both artists and spectators. We are based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and work both locally and globally, specifically –but not exclusively- with artists and practitioners from the West Asia & North Africa region and its diaspora. Every two years, we invite our audiences to a multidisciplinary and multi-city festival, to embark with us on a personal and collective journey unpacking themes and urgencies. We present and (co-)produce work and programs that are original, layered and relevant. Our next festival will take place in 2022. We are working with the overarching theme Rituals of Change for this festival and in the months leading up to it. Beyond the festival, there is an ongoing program of performances, gatherings, collaborative projects and online workshops throughout the year. Dancing on the Edge (DOTE) also offers opportunities for professionals, and we have our own Online Magazine!
