The Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Cambridge sits within the School of Biological Sciences. The Crop Science Centre, the Algal Innovation Centre, the Cambridge University Botanic Garden and the University's Herbarium are all a part of the Department of Plant Sciences. The Department has more than 25 research groups working across all aspects of plant science and is working to tackle the important challenges facing our planet from food security to alternative energy. The Department teaches on the University's undergraduate Natural Sciences Tripos and has many opportunities for postgraduate study.
