The Hive - Croydon is a charity delivering Croydon Children's University, and Routes, an employability accrediation scheme for schools. We also manage lettings at St Andrew's Community Hub.
Our vision is: ‘Realising potential and enriching the lives of the people of Croydon’
Croydon is a diverse and exciting town but also has its difficulties. In some areas, there are high levels of poverty that impact negatively on children’s lives.
We aim to:
•Raise the aspirations of our children and their families
•Contribute to social mobility
•Encourage whole family and local community participation
•Give practical life skills
•Build confidence
•Inspire the curiosity to learn more and keep learning
Our Routes scheme is an employability skills accreditation scheme for schools. We believe that if schools are to serve the rising generations of adults effectively, they have to listen to what employers are saying or their school-leavers may find themselves unable to contribute dynamically to the work-place.
Routes is managed through systems accredited by The Hive - Croydon, which records students’ experiences and commends the extent they acquire key skills.
In addition, our space at St Andrew's Community Hub is available for let.
