We are a non-profit language and literacy organisation on a mission to change our world by developing literacy and language, teaching and learning materials, while providing institutional training and class-room mentoring to developing communities in Africa Molteno develops learning material, provides training, and mentorship to foundation phase teachers with Mother-tongue and English development programmes. We work with primary schools throughout South Africa and eight other African states. Each project runs for an average of three years and is funded by donors across the world. Projects in schools are selected in consultation with the Department of Education and the donor.
