Derby Homes Limited is an 'Arm's Length Management Organisation' (ALMO) created by Derby City Council in 2002 to manage, maintain and improve its 14,500 council houses and its housing estates. The organisation is non-profit making and focuses on service provision to its tenants, who also form part of its Board. Derby Homes aims to provide the people of Derby with the best housing service in the country. In 2003, Derby Homes was awarded three stars by the Audit Commission for the quality of its service provision.
