The mission of the Permian Basin Association of Pipeliners is to advance pipeline engineering, operations, safety practices and education for the mutual benefit of the members and the industry.
The primary purpose of the Permian Basin Association of Pipliners (PBAP) is to provide an opportunity for "peer-to-peer" networking for men and women involved in the pipeline and related industries. Monthly meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at the Hilton Garden Inn in Midland. Meetings include a time of networking, a buffet, and a speaker. Topics range from safety and technical issues important to the industry, governmental affairs affecting the industry, and academia's efforts to prepare and influence the next generation toward a career in the oil and gas industry.
A secondary goal of the Permian Basin Association of Pipeliners is to provide scholarships to students who are pursuing a bachelor or graduate degree in science/technology/engineering and have completed at least 20 hours of coursework or to students who are are pursuing an applied technology associate degree or certificate in an industry-related field and have completed at least 6 hours of coursework.
