The Army, National Guard, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy all have creeds. A creed is an oath or honorarium that provides a value structure by which one lives and works. Creeds set the tone of “being” in each service branch and provide a compass for a life of continued leadership and service.
VISION
Ours is of a state-wide convening ‘hub’ that will serve to empower a generation of transitioning veterans to provide the ‘warrior’s values ethos’ in their continued service to their communities and our country - which at its core is rooted in: profound and sustained leadership, service to others, and commitment to excellence.
MISSION
To apply the military creed and philosophy within the broader community as a means of creating positive, leadership opportunities for transition back into civilian life by:
- Fostering success via a ‘warrior values ethos’ environment wherein it is possible for veterans to garner ‘hand up’ opportunities to contribute; rather than a ‘hand out’ which perpetuates common misperceptions about veterans and their capabilities.
-Facilitating the cooperation, coordination, and collaboration of existing resources and entities in an accessible and seamless manner that maximizes cohesion, impact, and effectiveness; and minimizes friction points, duplication of effort and the inefficient deployment of contributed dollars.
Included in this model will be opportunities for veterans’ advocacy through an improved use of data collection and distribution.
