ACQUIFER Imaging – Automated Microscopy and Big Image Data Handling
ACQUIFER Imaging integrates expertise for the development of modern imaging technologies and associated workflows, including instruments and tools required for the analysis of biological specimens in imaging applications from cellular models to whole organisms like zebrafish.
The unique composition of its team - consisting of experts in biology, microscopy, automation and large data information technology - allows ACQUIFER Imaging to deliver integrated solutions tailored to scientific needs.
The ACQUIFER Imaging Machine is a unique imaging platform, specifically designed for working with small model organisms like zebrafish and non-adherent samples. Production line engineered to be robust and reproducible, combined with moving optics and fixed sample holder, Imaging Machine minimises measurement-induced experimental variability and reliably serves applications from automated multi-well microscopy to High Content Screening (HCS).
To accommodate the large image data volumes generated by HCS and other core facility tools, ACQUIFER Imaging developed the HIVE for fast image data transfer and computation. Based on the Windows Server platform, HIVE is tested to work with the hardware and software from all major suppliers, thereby providing a flexible tool for researchers.
ACQUIFER was founded in 2012 as a joint venture of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT, http://www.kit.edu), European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL, http://www.embl.de) and other partners.
