Architect Jeremiah Johnson is driven by an affinity towards discovery, a curiosity for the built environment and a love of people. Born and raised in New Orleans, Jeremiah worked in both the hospitality and construction industries throughout his early life. From carpentry to bartending, tile work to shucking oysters, his first-hand experiences have afforded him an insider’s perspective to developing functional and buildable design. To this day, Jeremiah maintains a very hands-on approach to his pursuit of better architecture. Having received his Bachelor of Architecture from Mississippi State University in 1994, Jeremiah is a registered architect in 9 states and has numerous professional affiliations (see below ). He is a confirmed professional in the City of Chicago Department of Buildings Self-Certified Architect. Since starting his own Chicago-based design build practice in 1998, Jeremiah Johnson has completed over 300 hospitality related projects in Chicago and across the United States. Currently, he has offices in Chicago, New Orleans, and Miami. Jeremiah’s design philosophy revolves around recognizing the client’s vision and budget as the driving factors in the design process. Ultimately, it’s the client who must operate the establishment, and if concepts are honed and budgets are met through the design process, ownership is left with confidence in the product and the capital to deliver that product.
