Plano - we have a crisis. Nearly 20% of our High School Seniors are living at, or below, the US poverty level and that number continues to rise. The young children that will define our future as a city are vulnerable - and without intervention, many of them will go on to repeat the cycle of poverty. But there is hope. For nearly 30 years, the Hendrick Scholarship Foundation has made it their mission to provide Plano ISD graduates who have overcome adversity with scholarships and support services to promote success in life through education. By equipping and empowering the future generation to educate themselves, we help the community break the cycle of poverty and ensure that every child in Plano has an equal opportunity to succeed.
