Formally known as the LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LSU has Schools of Medicine, Graduate Studies and Allied Professions which together offer an array of professional degree programs and have 1,500 students and postdoctoral trainees. Across Shreveport/Bossier and Monroe, our faculty practice plan offers patients the collective expertise of LSU's 500 physicians.
LSU Health Shreveport has partnerships with four major area hospitals: University Health, Willis-Knighton, Shriners Children's Hospital, and the Overton Brooks Veterans Affairs Medical Center. University Health operates our teaching hospitals and clinics in Shreveport and Monroe. Our specialty centers in rheumatology and trauma care - and the Feist Weiller Cancer Center - are jointly sponsored by LSU and University Health.
In addition, LSU Health Shreveport has strong community support and is closely affiliated with the LSU Health Sciences Foundation and Biomedical Research Foundation of Northwest Louisiana.
