Northern Norway Regional Health Authority (Helse Nord RHF) is responsible for the public hospitals in northern Norway. The aim of the Regional Health Authority is to provide the necessary specialist health services for the population of northern Norway and Svalbard.
The Royal Norwegian Ministry of Health and Care Services owns the Northern Norway Regional Health Authority. The Regional Health Authority is lead by a management board and its administration is located in Bodø.
The hospitals are organised in 5 trusts. The trusts have their own management boards and are independent legal entities.
