About Us
Altınordu Sports Club was established in Izmir, a port city in the westernmost part of Turkey on December 26, 1923. It is the first sports club established in Turkey after the declaration of the Turkish Republic on October 29, 1923. The founding president and the namer of the club is the famous pharmacist Eczacıbaşı Süleyman Ferit Bey. Its colors are red and navy blue.
Altınordu is one of the first teams of the national professional league in Turkey, which was founded in 1959.
The most important footballer is Sait Altınordu. Sait wore the jersey of his club, from which he took his surname, for 25 years, between 1928 and 1953, without interruption. In 1936, he took part in the Turkish national team that participated in the Berlin Olympics.
In 2012, while the team was in the fourth division, the football branch was incorporated and completely revamped by the steel industrialist Seyit Mehmet Özkan. During the restructuring, for the philosophy, Spanish Basque Country club, Athletic Bilbao, which only signs players born in its region and for the homegrown player development system, the Netherlands club Ajax Amsterdam has been chosen as "role models".
Our most famous players from Altınordu Football Academy (ALFA) are, defender Çağlar Söyüncü, who plays for Leicester City, and Cengiz Ünder, who plays for Marseille. These two homegrown players are the main players of the Turkish National Team.
