Legal Entity of Public Law-Teaching University-Batumi State Maritime Academy is the main maritime HEI in Georgia and its history began in 1920’s. It was the first HEI to implement Quality Management Standard ISO 9001. Right now ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System is functioning in the Academy. BSMA is a member of main maritime organizations and is working to establish partnership relations with leading universities in the world. Currently BSMA has three faculties: Maritime Navigation, Maritime Engineering and Business and Management Faculties. Also there are three centers function: Vocational Education Centre, Poti Maritime Learning Training Centre and Seafarers Training and Certification Centre. All educational programs and short training courses are made according requirements of Georgian legislation, national educational standards, STCW convention and are compiled according to IMO recommended Model courses. Our programs have national and international recognition.
