Led by Superintendent Shawn Ryan and a supportive Board of Education, Clarkston is a highly regarded school district with an enrollment of 7,500 students. Our campuses cover a combined 418 acres and 63 square miles. We have seven elementary schools (K-5), one middle school serving grades 6-7, one junior high school for grades 8-9, Clarkston High School, which serves students in grades 10-12, and Renaissance High School, our alternative high school. Voters in Clarkston also recently approved a $76 million bond for district-wide upgrades in safety, security, facilities, and technology.
Rigorous, highly comprehensive curricular offerings enable our students to prepare for future success. Clarkston's reputation as an outstanding school district is well established. We have two national Blue Ribbon schools and six others have earned Michigan Exemplary Blue Ribbon school status; Clarkston was recently named as one of Forbes Magazine's Top Suburbs to Live Well (citing our graduation rates and class sizes); our state assessment scores and Education YES! grades are among the best in Oakland County; and year after year, our graduates earn more than $5 million in scholarships.
Here, we shepherd the social, emotional, and physical well-being of each child. Beginning at birth and continuing through life, we help Clarkston kids create a story of learning that leads to personal fulfillment, meaningful relationships, and positive contributions. We're guided by a supportive Culture of Thinking and innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
In Clarkston, you can cheer for our state championship athletics, swing a hammer with our Construction Tech program, and be moved to tears at a live stage performance of Les Miserables. Make a difference in an academic environment that offers an engaging curriculum and limitless learning opportunities.
We have the best schools around, and they're only getting better. Anywhere we go, we are proud to say... #WeAreClarkston!
