Dinakar Singh founded TPG-Axon Capital in 2005, in partnership with TPG Capital. TPG-Axon was one of the largest and most successful global long-short hedge funds, through offices and investment teams in New York, London, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. Axon was created in 2017 as the family office successor firm to TPG-Axon and is based in New York. Axon manages approximately $500 million of capital, almost all of which is internal capital and/or private investments. Axon focuses on making a very limited number of long-term, highly concentrated investments in both public companies and select private early-stage growth companies. In the private early-stage growth investments that Axon makes, it typically is the lead investor and takes a hands-on role with management in helping nurture and accelerate the growth and evolution of the companies. As of 2018, Axon has been jointly managed by Kori Estrada and Dinakar Singh as Co-CIO and Co-CEO, and in that period has posted market-leading returns.
