Based in Geneva, Switzerland, the Simon Institute for Longterm Governance (SI) works to mitigate global catastrophic risks, building on Herbert Simon's vision of future-oriented policymaking. With a focus on fostering international cooperation, we center our efforts on the multilateral system. In practice, we bridge the gap between technical innovation and policy, foster collaboration between researchers and policymakers, and provide input to multilateral policy processes. Our current work is focused on mitigating risks from AI and promoting its safe development through multilateral governance.
