According to Nick, the global lockdown in 2020 was the catalyst: “Having had experienced one of the longest, toughest lockdown periods in the world in Melbourne, Australia, and seeing how many of my peers were in a panic due to the shutdown of their Philippines support centres, I thought to myself: how is it that a cloud-based world is still so dependent on in-office infrastructure? Besides, anyone who has visited the Philippines knows the challenges employees have in terms of commuting to and from their workplaces. Wouldn’t it be more beneficial to both client and employee to offer remote working opportunities and ensure business can continue unabated in a crisis? Not to mention saving all that down-time and associated overhead cost in commuting to and from an office?”
