BERING combines Danish design with the Beauty of the Arctic, which was a huge inspiration and became the foundation and constant inspiration for the brand ever since. The Arctic means a lot to founder and owner Michael Witt Johansen from Denmark, as his father travelled to Greenland and the Faroer Islands as a salesman for more than 25 years. Michael Witt Johansen’s own trips to Greenland and his friend and co-founder René Kaerskov’s parachute jump over the North Pole inspired them to establish a brand with a unique design concept.
Watches and jewellery that stay beautiful as time passes by – this is what BERING stands for. We design products that are timelessly elegant and we use long-lasting and durable materials such as high-tech-ceramic, medical-grade stainless steel (316L) and scratch resistant sapphire crystal. Our jewellery and our watches match perfectly and form harmonious sets in different colour worlds.
BERING also places great value on charity and sustainability projects. We are committed to make an active effort to help preserve the environment and support the conservation organisation “Polar Bears International” with our charity campaign “Time to Care”. Sustainability has also been part of our concept from the very beginning. In addition to durable materials, we set new standards with our packaging from recycled glass and our “Ocean Pebble” collection with straps made of 100% recycled ocean plastic.
