The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA) is a nonprofit corporation created in 1963 to support the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens. Currently GLAZA operates seven essential functions for the City-owned Zoo, including fundraising for the Zoo's programs and capital projects, membership, volunteers, marketing and public relations, special events and site rentals, concessions and retail and publications. GLAZA also works to nurture a commitment to wildlife and conservation support, as well as to foster community support for the L.A. Zoo, its mission and programs.
GLAZA and the L.A. Zoo share a common mission: To serve the community, we will create an environment for recreation and discovery; inspire an appreciation of wildlife through exhibitry and education; ensure the highest level of animal welfare; and support programs that preserve biodiversity and conserve natural habitat.
We also share a vision: We will leverage the diverse resources of Los Angeles to be an innovator for the global zoo community, creating dynamic experiences to connect people and animals.
