Around the world, four billion people still cook using dangerous, smoky open fires. Lung disease from the smoke leads to over four million deaths each year, mostly women and children. StoveTeam's mission is to make safe, fuel efficient cookstoves possible for every family in the world. Our innovative approach of empowering local people to build and distribute cookstoves in their own regions has enabled StoveTeam to change the lives of over half a million people. Now in our 12th year, we are focused on a new project in Guatemala, to provide 5,000 Justa cookstoves for families in the region of San Martín Jilotepeque.
